Kanye West - Everything I Am

So my friend recently told me that he feels like i've completely changed in the last year, and you know what, I have, and would never go back.

Sometimes people want you to be the same person forever because they themselves feel stuck in their own life. People expect you to NOT change and when you do, I feel they either don't accept it, or continue to treat you as if you WERE the same.

You say I changed, yes, I changed so the rest of the world doesn't pass me by. It's cool to care about things, It's cool to be smart, it's cool to talk like a normal person, It's cool to learn from different people you would've never talked to and than incorporate that into your own life.

I used to look up to you when we were younger, you were the center of attention, the life of the party. EVERYONE loved you, and than highschool finished, and than all these people left, and nobody knew you, and the party was over, and you NEVER moved on. You never went on and made a new life for yourself and became the star of the show somewhere else, you just gave up. You became the introduced and not the introducer,everything started to be given to you instead of by you, and you didn't go and make your OWN life.

Yeah, I changed, cause change is good.
